Dreux

Dreux is situated in the Eure-et-Loir (Region) in the eastern-center of France at 32 km from Chartres, the department capital. Dreux is 73 km from Paris. The Romans built the Castrum Drocas in Dreux.
The first count of Dreux was Robert, the sucesor of king Louis the Fat. The first large battle of the French Wars of Religion occurred at Dreux in 1562.
