Tirana is the capital of Albania. Tirana is also the biggest city in Albania. Tirana has a population of 321.546.
Tirana is the centre of the political, economic, and cultural life of the country. The city is lively and colourful. But it has not always been, the heart of Albania, Tirana, has undergone a transformation of extraordinary proportions since it awoke from its communist slumber in the early 1990s. Tirana is now unrecognisable, with its buildings painted in horizontal primary colours.

Sightseeing
Tirana is a very cultural city, and there is a lot to see, it has a plethora of beautiful churches and lush parks.
There are a lot of museums worth visiting like: Skenderberg Castle, National History Museum and National Gallery of art. Also a interesting hike to the cave of Pellumbas is one thing you have to do, to see one old cave that is still untouched by human hands.
Also in tne centre you find Sheshi Skenderbeu and east of Sheshi is the Palace of Culture, which has a theatre, shops and art galleries.
Shopping
Tirana has 11 shopping centres with a little bit for every taste. You can find mid-range shops outlet and of course fashion stores you can find to. The shopping centres you can find are: Casa Italia, Citypark Albania, Coin, Galeria Mall, Galeria Nasional, Kristal Center, QTU, Sheraton Plaza, Tirana East Gate, Torre Drin and Vesa center.
On the streets of Tirana you will also find small shops and a lot of souvenirs stores with a lot of things for no money.
And if you get hungry or thirsty on your shopping trip, do not worry, if there is not a restaurant in front of you, you will find it just around the corner.
Nightlife
There are plenty of Bars, Cafes and Night Clubs all around the area of Blloku in Albania, and in each one of them you will get maybe your cheapest drink ever. There is something for the football fans, the dancers, the drinkers and the beer lovers.
Transport
Tirana has one airport, Tirana International Airport Mother Theresa, it is located just 15 kilometres Northwest of the city.
Locas transport within the city of Tirana is easiest by bus or taxi. There are official taxies with taximeter, and there are people working as a taxi with their one car, both of them are cheap, so it is just what you prefer.
And a new trend has set in Albania, you can rent bicycles everywhere in the town to get around and see things.

The climate of Albania can be classified as aa Mediterranean Climate with a dry summer, the coldest month is January with an average temperature of 2°C. The warmest months are July and August with an average temperature of 32°C.
