Perugia is the capital city of Umbria, a region in the center of Italy, founded by Etruscan. This city preserved antiques memories and artistic treasures which testify the rich past. Perugia is a small city which still preserves its medievial beauty but it is also a very busy city especially due to the presence of one of the oldest Italian universities. This medieval city has a little historycal center which is for the most part uphill; there are many beautiful churches to visit like San Pietro church and also some green corners like the university's botanical gardens. Perugia is also well known for its "Eurochocolate" which is the sweetest international exhibition! During Eurochocolate, the historycal city center is full of exhibitors from all over the world who propose their chocolate specialties. This is surely an event to.. taste!

Perugia is not only a city of art, history and culture, but also a place where you can have a lot of fun. The nightlife is concentrated mainly in the center where every night party are organized for university students. The "Contrappunto" is the soul of nightlife, situated in the center of the city where italian and foreigner students meet to have party. Another famous club is "Etoile 54" which is one of the most famous clubs of the center of Italy. If you prefer something more quiet, you can spend your nights in one of the many little restaurants and taste delicious typical food.
The center of Perugia is plenty of little shops where you can find everything you need and satisfy some whims. The best place where you can go shopping is "Corso Vannucci"; this is the most busy street of the city and you can also stop there for a delicious lunch or dinner!
Perugia is plenty of beautiful places to visit, you can start visiting Rocca Paolina, which was an ancient fortress wanted by Pope Paul III; the most striking part of what remains of Rocca Paolina are the underground.Along Corso Vannucci, on one of the top floors of Palazzo Priori, there is the Umbria National Gallery, the gallery houses one of the most complete and rich artistic heritage of the region. During your trip to Umbria you surely have to stop to visit the Major Fountain, located in Piazza IV Novembre and San Lorenzo Cathedral dedicated to San Lorenzo who is one of the patron saint of the city.

You can reach Perugia by plane, by bus or by train.
The train station is a few kilometers from the city center and from 2008 Perugia opened it MiniMetro a little train that every two minutes take you from the station to the center of the city.
